A pair of rare folding steel chatelaine scissors. c1840A pair of steel scissors which fold for safety when on the end of a chatelaine. There is a spring and a little pedal on one finger ring which you push down to catch the opposite blade. In good condition some light tarnish only but the end of one blade has lost its tip. 10. 5cm long when folded. Stock no. LR09

A heavy purse for its size as it was made using tiny metal beads -gold for the background and metallic blue beads the pattern

There are no silver marks but it tests as silver and dates to circa 1860

A few of the early coil head pins were lost and have been replaced with ordinary ones but the majority still remain

It has some light dings on the plain barrel but no other damage

The pearl is ring cut on the ends and would have been part of the fittings of a French Palais Royal sewing box

A silver bodkin which would have filled one of the vertical slots in an 18thc etui along with scissors
