Orvis Salmon 9'6" Bamboo Rod - early and collectibleFor sale here is an early Orvis Salmon bamboo rod in near mint original condition. Serial #10103 made in 1949 by George Reid. 9 1 2 foot rod for an eight or nine weight line. Three sections with two tips. Label weight 8 oz. Ferrule sizes 13 64 and 20 64. Comes with its original tan bag and labeled tube.
Introduced in 1899
unmolested smooth brass reel foot
The reel appears totally original and free or repair or restoration work
Includes original grey bag and tube with green and silver label
This rod was donated by the makers to the Catskill Fly Fishing Center and Museum (CFFCM)
There is one small speck on the face of the winding plate of the 3" reel
The rod was built for Hazel Johnson by Paul Young in 1950 and is not serial numbered

Comes with the original neoprene case for the reel
