Three really tiny model coins. 1848These are three little metal toy coins tokens. The largest of the three has 'Model Quarter Farthing' on it on one side. The next in size 'Model Eighth Farthing 1848 and the tiniest 'Model 16th Farthing ' but no date. All three have a young Queen Victoria's head on the other side. Condition please see photos. brown and the clear glass are in excellent condition

There are no hallmarks that I can see but it dates to c1870-1880 and is likely to be French

It is in good condition- a few losses but no loose threads-nothing obvious

The pastes are all original but there's one in the corner which is a darker colour than the rest and slightly raised

The silver is marked with a hound's head and the number 3 to the left which is Austro-Hungarian c1872-1922 but it's

c1900-1910

The picture is also clear and undamaged with no sign of the usual patching on the edges

There are two short projections helping to sandwich the leather between the two plates

The hinge is red velvet and the lining a patterned yellow paper

It would have lain in a tray in a French work box along with sewing tools

The handles are variant which may be deliberate so as to easily identify which is which when in a writing box -the tooling is identical

The inner sleeve is bone
