We had another one of these that was hallmarked with the patent date of 1 2 06. This piece is not a reproduction, it is a true antique. This particular lock may be a pre patent, as we found no patent dates or patent pending hallmarks. It has two keys and the locking mechanism works very well. It's in wonderful
