Marcus Aurelius Silver Denarius Issued AD 180 aEFStruck at the Rome Mint in AD 180, this silver Denarius commemorates the deified Emperor Marcus Aurelius. Measuring 18mm and weighing 2. 43 grams, the obverse bears the legend DIVVS M ANTONINVS PIVS with a bare head portrait right. The reverse, inscribed CONSECRATIO, depicts an eagle standing left on a thunderbolt, head turned right, holding a spear in its beak symbolising the emperors apotheosis.
