19th-Century British School, Stable Scene With AnimalsThis charming late 19th century oil on canvas depicts a quiet stable scene with restful animals. A white horse stands, somewhat elegantly, over a cockerel. Two faithful dogs look on. The artist is unknown but its plausible that its by someone painting their own stable. Its a little folky, which adds to its country house charm. Housed in a fine period giltwood frame. Medium: Oil on canvas Overall size: 18 x 17 47cm x 43cm Year of creation: c. 1880

It was clearly the artist’s intention that the figure of a lady only comes into focus as you scan the room

Condition: Very presentable indeed

It’s painted with expression and was possibly intended as a study in advance of a larger work
