Emil Von Ernst, Alpine Landscape With WatermillA charming 19th century alpine landscape by German painter, Emil Von Ernst (1817 1905). It depicts a beautiful old watermill tucked away in dense woodland with a stream cutting its way through rocks. Two figures are standing by the waters edge while two more are silhouetted by the mill. Von Ernst lived in Dusseldorf and is known to have exhibited at the Berlin Academy. The painting is signed in the lower right and housed within a good later frame.
