The hardest part of Gatti's isolation was his separation from his three year old daughter Paulita. He created a story for her, to communicate why he was behind bars, and sent it to her in a series of illustrated letters which were smuggled out of the prison. Following Gatti's release in 1972, the letters were turned into a book via a printing
