Harald Sallberg, MeditationThis intriguing and rather stylish etching by Swedish artist, Harald Sallberg (1895 1963) depicts an artist in his studio contemplating a large canvas. A quiet moment taking it all in. The composition is unusual the easel draws the eye but the space creates a narrative. It alludes to the tension between an artist and his work its the space in between, the intangible void. The etching is signed dated in the lower right and housed within a later frame.
